BIAFRANS WILL USE BOYCOTT TO BUILD A STRONGER ECONOMY AND BIRTH BIAFRA--By Elochukwu Nicholas Ohagi
Greetings to Biafrans as they celebrate the most difficult Christmas since after the 1967/70 civil war.
Since I resigned from my job because of intimidation from my principal of the school I was teaching in, I have used this period, (23rd November till now) to sit down and meditate on the importance of certain actions we fear to take out of fear of the unknown. My resignation is a protest over what is not supposed to be. Its a big NO to slavery just as it's a message to every tyrant that not everybody will take nonsense. It's a message that even with our level in the society, we still hold our integrity high. Because our integrity is all we got. It's me sending a message that in Biafra we will not take anything from leaders. In Biafra leaders will resign at any point in time. Biafrans won't soil their hands when they can always use a pen and a paper to scribble down their resignation letters. On a personal note, its me telling myself that it's over with "Secondary School". Time to head higher. A philosopher, writer, teacher and a good analyst like me should be exactly where I am appreciated. Where ever I put my charity ought to be appreciated. That's the lesson I learnt so far from events. And I am determined that come 2018 I will reach the highest level of my carrier in Jesus name. Amen.
Just like I used resignation to send a message, Biafrans have used #Boycott to send a more louder message. Many Leaders have in there different ways and time used civil disobedience to defend and fight for the right of their own people. Civil disobedience is never a crime and have never been. It's an acceptable way of forcing a tyrannious government to bend and do the good biddings of the people who ought to be the real owners of the power. Power belongs solely to the people. It's quite unfortunate that many has been afraid of civil disobedience due to the lies emanating from the political class. Biafrans need to understand the meaning of civil disobedience as not to buy again the lies emanating from the people who is all out to intimidate, dishearten, abash, daunt them as to remain nothing but slaves in a nation they are first borns, kings and queens.
According to an online English dictionary, civil disobedience is a form of social protest, involving the active but non-violent refusal to obey certain laws, demands, or commands of an established authority, because they are considered to be morally wrong or detrimental. Taking it further from another source, it can be seen as the active refusal to obey laws set by the government. Boycott on the other hand is to abstain, either as an individual or group, from using, buying, or dealing with someone or some organization as an expression of protest.
Like I said earlier, many leaders have used civil disobedience just like Nnamdi Kanu the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra is doing. Don't forget that this disobedience is typically characterized by nonviolent resistance and respectful disagreement. Notable leaders like Mohandas Gandhi of India was one of the first leaders to fully embrace this way of fighting for human rights. During the late 19th century and the early 20th century, Gandhi made the biggest steps towards making India an independent nation free of British control. Without using any violence, Gandhi organized and participated in many peaceful demonstrations, rallies, and boycotts. Although many powers believe force and violence are key to reaching a goal, Gandhi proved that peaceful rebellion is much more effective through protest and boycotts, which are strategies used by leaders today. Gandhi and Indians successfully boycotted British made goods and with it sent Britain packing from India. They didn't stop at boycotting British products, they at the same time campaigned for people to buy only made in India goods. Now you can see the power of boycott and how effective it can be. Our Britain today is the HausaFulani controlled Nigeria government who have denied Biafrans referendum, as to determine where they truly belong.
In trying to birth Biafra, Biafrans have used many methods and have paid with their blood. Biafrans have protested in the streets of Biafra and got killed by the Nigeria military. Hundreds of Biafra youths has been killed. On September 14th 2017, more than 1000 Nigeria troops invaded Nnamdi Kanu's compound, killing many youths with Nnamdi Kanu himself missing. Why Nnamdi Kanu was away, probably kidnapped by the Nigeria military, Biafrans have used boycott on Nigeria. It started from boycotting of Anambra election, which was more than 95% successful. Biafrans did this without losing any of their own. This is a way to go. The fire is on. Its on this note I make bold to say that Biafrans have really discovered the power that is in boycott, and is ready to sink Nigeria with it.
The marginalized Biafrans will use Boycott against the Nigeria state. They will from 2018 start boycotting a lot of things in Nigeria. The first among the list of things to boycott is Dangote cement. The government of Nigeria targeted Ibeto and used policies to send him to hell. Today Ibeto that was the highest private employer of labour in the East is struggling to survive. He was targeted because he is Igbo, a nation in Biafra. The Nigeria government apart from Ibeto has successfully destroyed many businesses belonging to Biafrans. And we are not going to take it any longer. We are going to use boycott to break the backbone of Nigeria. We will restore our people back to their rightful position. This will encourage Biafrans to shun intimidation from Nigeria government and relocate their companies and businesses back to Biafra land where they rightfully belonged. With this we must have built an economic viable region.
As IPOB has already made plans for referendum come 2018, it's in my opinion that Biafrans should immediately start using boycott. Boycott will be used to make Biafra an independent nation free from Nigeria control.
