MR PRESIDENT FOR GOOD EIGHT MONTHS YOU WORKED AGAINST MAHAMA WITH YOUR BOGUS ELECTION PETITION

President Akufo-Addo's statement at the Npp delegates conference that the Mahama administration bequeathed a flattened economy to his administration was borne out of ignorance, lacking in depth and is devoid of the sort of critical thinking that one would expect from a politician of his stature. This phenomenon of reducing commentary on serious public issues and art of governance to comedy must end somewhere. It is shameful and embarrassing that having been in power for almost year, a party that promised the good people of Ghana heaven, is unable to point to cogent, convincing and data driven achievements. Instead for the administration to apologise to Ghanaians including its supporters for this unprecedented disappointment, it is spending the bulk of its time and nation's resources designing and implementing primitive communication strategy around massive propaganda and outright falsehoods in an attempt to cover its shame. The President must be made to know and understand that there is no indices anywhere by which the administration of Akufo-Addo in one year, can be measured as coming close to the Mahama administration's first year in terms of performance in all spheres of governance. The economy under Akufo-Addo continue to shrink in size because its implementation of incoherent policies and incompetence the part of the President and his government.

President Mahama spent the first eight (8) months of his administration at the supreme court. The petition case at the supreme court, affected government business and investment both local and international. Businesses withheld their operations, international financial institutions and other institutions suspended their dealing in Ghana for strategic reasons. John Mahama did not blow trumpets across the country about the frustrations his administration went through. He focused on his targets, and achieved few cogent results including implementation of huge projects. Investors started responding to the policies the Mahama administration designed and implemented by investing billions of dollars in the Ghanaian economy after that useless project ( Election petition). Since Akufo-Addo administration's inauguration, investment has reduced according to world bank and Barclays South Africa's latest report. The administration's inchoate and incoherent policies and the massive corruption going on in the administration are pushing away investors. The President's own senior minister and former finance minister under Kufour, during his vetting, admitted that the Ghanaian economy had experienced growth under the previous administration and described the economy as "fundamentally strong". In 2016, several global economic experts and institutions including the world bank and IMF, projected Ghana to be among the fastest growing economies in the world in 2017. The incompetence of the current administration has resulted in high fuel prices, skyrocketing of the prices of goods, collapse of businesses, widespread hunger and anger.

Mr President, your predecessor bequeathed to your administration, excess power. We've been told that your administration has entered into negotiations with the Burkina Faso government for the supply of power to the west African country. This deal is going to fetch your administration, millions of dollars. Mahama never enjoyed this comfort rather, he was forced to increase our energy stock to meet our current demand. He cleverly and courageously confronted that decades old crisis through prudent negotiations and arrangement. What about the hospitals and the chip compounds? What about the ports expansion projects. I hope the President knows the benefits his government and the people of Ghana are going to get from Air France's decision to operate in Ghana. This was made possible because of the renovation works at the airport etc. Has he quantified benefits we going to accrue from operations at the outsourcing business center? The Data centre etc etc. All we hear is "Debt profiling". Profiling what? Borrowing billions to settle debts as the claim? Moneys borrowed are being spent to fund jamborees and party activities. There is poverty and suffering everywhere and the Akufo-Addo government is not doing anything to bail-out the struggling masses.
