Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari will leave Abuja for Washington DC tomorrow, Wednesday, to join President Barack Obama and about 60 other world leaders and heads of international organisations at the 4th Nuclear Security Summit which opens there on Thursday, presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina, has said. Mr. Adesina said in a statement that at plenary sessions of the summit, which is dedicated to reinforcing international commitment to the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, President Buhari will insist that while Nigeria will continue to sustain that commitment, world powers must respect the right of other countries to the peaceful use of nuclear energy for development purposes. Don’t Compare Western Sahara With Biafra, Biafra Is Dead And Forgotten.- Garba Shehu

Senior Special Assistant to the president on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, has said the IPOB and other groups agitating for a Biafra State were living in mirage, adding that the matter was a rested case. Garba told New Telegraph that as far as he was concerned, Nigerians paid the ultimate prize of going to a-three-year civil war, where over one million people lost their lives. He pointed out that those protesting for a State of Biafra have no information about the political history of the count ry He said the issue of Biafra was settled at the end of that civil war. “Remember that this country fought a civil war for 30 months in which one million people were killed. “The issue of Biafra was settled at the end of that civil war. “What is there again? “It is people who haven’t read Nigerian history and don’t know about it that are trying to raise new dust.” Recently, Buhari was said to have thrown his weight behind the liberation of the Saharawi people

An EgyptAir plane with 63 passengers and crew aboard was hijacked Tuesday by a man claiming to wear a suicide vest and forced to land in Cyprus, said airline and government officials, renewing concerns about airport security in Egypt. Most of the passengers were released following negotiations with the hijacker at the international airport in Larnaca. Seven people were still on board the plane, including the pilot, co-pilot, a flight attendant, a security officer and three non-Egyptian passengers, said Sherif Fathy, Egypt’s civil aviation minister. As the negotiations with the hijacker were continuing, the motive for the hijacking remained unclear. “There were no real, tangible demands by the hijacker,” Mr. Fathy said. The Cypriot president, Nicos Anastasiades, told reporters, “it’s not something that has to do with terrorism.” Mr. Fathy declined to discuss reports that the suspect had demanded the plane land in Cyprus in an effo

Is Nigeria the Only Country Where Idiots Rule?

Image
For over four decades now, another  Nigeria-Biafra war has been looming.  These two entities, forced together by the British in 1914 have increasingly moved towards direct confrontation for the first time since 1970. Over time the Nigerian government has become comprised of mainly Muslim participants from the North whose occupations are mainly cattle herders with little or no education.  These Muslims served in the Nigerian military, which adds to their inability to govern correctly and institute sound economic policies.  The world has begun to label Nigeria “the only country where idiots rule.” The Oxford English Dictionary defines genocide as “the deliberate and systematic extermination of an ethnic or national group …” The UN general assembly also defined it in 1946 as “… a denial of the right of existence of entire human groups”.  Biafrans have consistently charged that the Nigerian government has in fact always had a design to exterminate the Igbos of Biafra

NIGERIA IS A SINKING SHIP-----Oscar Lee

From East to West, North to South the Biafran conflict is heating up globally. The Biafran war, fought between Nigeria and Biafra from the years 1967-1970 has been recorded as the most brutal civil war any black Nation has ever witnessed. With the help of the British, innocent young people, mostly women and children numbering close to 6 million lost their lives. The leadership the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has infused  a new spirit into the struggle for self-determination.This spirit has awoken from its slumber the drive to  exhibit the  fundamental human right under the rule of law to protest the Buhari lead Administration.  This Nigerian government has unleashed terror on the innocent citizens who are seeking a better life and good governance for their children and future generation. Scores have been killed by the Department of State Security (DSS), including those shot by the combination of both military and police personnel.  Despite Amnesty Interna

In a recent publication, CNN has gone ahead to publish a list that shows how corrupt our former leaders are and how much they looted from our treasury. FG Spends N600m On Procurement Of Dogs For Police

Image
The Inspector-General of Police (IG), Mr Solomon Arase, has said that the Nigeria Police Force had spent over N600 million on the procurement and maintenance of foreign dogs in the last few years. Police Sniffer-dogs Arase made the disclosure at the inauguration of the Police Dog Breeding Centre and Ultra Modern Mounted Troop in Abuja on Thursday. “This is certainly not sustainable in the face of the current dwindling resources,”he said. He said that the projects inaugurated were funded within the budgetary provisions of the Force Animal Branch. Arase said that the force animal branch had remained underutilised in the past while the force continued to rely on importation of dogs and other animals for its operations. He said that the centre was built to aid the police acquire capacity to locally breed police dogs as we
