NPP primaries: Ursula Owusu’s contender Albert Kan Dapaah Jnr thrown out by vetting committee to protect Ursula
Albert Kan Dapaah Jnr, the only contender in the Ablekuma West New Patriotic Party parliamentary primaries, failed to clear the first hurdle in his bid to unseat the incumbent Member of Parliament, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful. The party’s regional executives failed Mr Kan Dapaah Jnr, who had earlier alleged that constituency executives were playing hide and seek with nomination forms. In February, Mr Kan Dapaah, who is the son of the National Security Minister, vowed to unseat the incumbent MP, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, as the party’s parliamentary candidate in the constituency. But he cited foul play after he was allegedly left stranded at the party’s constituency office on February 5, 2020, when he arrived to pick up nomination forms to contest the primaries.
