In a communiqué issued by the GPCC after deliberations at the 2020 Conference of Heads of Churches and Organisations held at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa Fetteh from 4 to 7 February 2020, the Council noted “with concern, the unearthing of certain corruption-related cases recently”. “We take particular note of the missing 500 excavators [and] the missing 400 tricycles”. “We call on the security agencies to conduct serious investigations into these scandals and to bring to justice anybody found culpable”, the Council said. Albert Kan Dapaah Jnr, the only contender in the Ablekuma West New Patriotic Party parliamentary primaries, failed to clear the first hurdle in his bid to unseat the incumbent Member of Parliament, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful. The party’s regional executives failed Mr Kan Dapaah Jnr, who had earlier alleged that constituency executives were playing hide and seek with nomination forms. In February, Mr Kan Dapaah, who is the son of the National Security Minister, vowed to unseat the incumbent MP, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, as the party’s parliamentary candidate in the constituency.
